Types of Breast Implants

Breast implants vary in several ways:
· Filling
· Shape
· Texture
Once you choose to undergo breast augmentation surgery, you should also determine the type of implant that suits your needs. To help you with this decision, a plastic surgeon, such as Dr. Hendricks in Newport Beach, CA, will work closely with you.
Although the decision to undergo breast augmentation surgery is very personal, your plastic surgeon can provide you with much-needed assistance when making multiple breast augmentation options.
"I provide high quality and caring care to all my patients," says Dr. Douglas Hendricks, "using modern, scientifically proven breast augmentation techniques, I help my patients achieve their goals of achieving a youthful, healthy, energetic appearance."
All breast implants have at least two things in common: shell and fill material. Breast implant shells are made of silicone elastomers, except for polypropylene implants, which are silicone-free.
Although you may have heard of breast and silicone breast implants, the difference between the two is the material used to fill the silicone elastomer shell.
· Saline Breast Implants - filled with sterile salt solution; just like what you would receive in a hospital for dehydration.
· Silicone breast implants - filled with silicone gel.
Saline breast implants are not only safe, but also the most common breast implants. If they break, the body will not have difficulty absorbing the solution because saline breast implants contain only sterile salt solution.
Silicone breast implants contain silicone gel, and they are filled so that the possibility of silicone gel entering the body during breast augmentation surgery is greatly reduced. Also, slices made during breast augmentation surgery with larger silicone breast implants; to accommodate pre-filled implant sizes.
Saline breast implants can also be selected either before they are filled or after they are placed. The incision made for breast augmentation surgery with empty breast implants is much smaller because breast implants are completed after surgery.
Silicone breast implants are now filled with cohesive gel. This means that if the implant is broken, the gel will stick to itself, like bread dough.
At present, the copy implant is widely available, while the silicone implant can only be placed through a plastic surgeon who is involved in the study of cohesive silicone silicone gel. Saline breast implants, however, are available in many shapes and textures.
Anatomical implants, or traditional, round or contour and implants, can both be used to give patients the breast enlargement surgery they are looking for.
· Contour breast implants - shaped like tears, and originally developed for women in need of breast reconstruction.

· Round breast implants - more common, and can move freely in pockets made by plastic surgeons behind the breast.
Although circular breast implants almost always take the form of tears after the healing process is completed, some women prefer contoured breast implants because they mimic the natural shape of the breast.
Round breast implants shaped like the world; after they are placed, they can rotate in the breast pocket created by a plastic surgeon, without distorting the shape of the breast.
There are also differences in surgeries involving round or contoured breast implants. During breast augmentation surgery with contoured breast implants, the plastic surgeon must make a more precise pocket for contoured breast implants so that they do not rotate, and distort the shape of the breast, once it is placed.
Contour breast implants are also textured so there is a slight chance of rotation in the chest pocket. This means that the implant shell is thicker to balance the texture.
Breast implants can also be selected on the outer skin texture. Textured implants are developed to reduce the possibility of capsular contraction.
· Textured breast implants - the surface of the implant is damaged to feel like sandpaper; the shell is thicker to compensate for redness.
· Smooth breast implants - smooth surface so that breast implants can move freely in pockets formed behind breasts; Smooth, round, saline breast implants are the most common form of breast implants.
It is yet to be determined whether textured implants actually reduce the chance of capsule contraction.
When performing breast augmentation surgery, it is important to consider all aspects of the procedure. Breast implants are one of the most important parts of this. Breast implants are what really give you an boost and they are placed behind your breasts. Not only can the size be selected to give you the look you want, but also the shape, texture, and texture.
