The wrap will be removed for a few days, but the surgical bra will need several weeks, until swelling and bruises are reduced. One or two weeks after surgery, the stitches will be dissolved, or need to be removed.
Although you may wake up and in a day or two, your breasts may still be sick for a few weeks. You should avoid lifting or pushing anything heavy for three or four weeks. It may take several weeks for the initial recovery, but it may take from six months to a year for the body to fully adapt to the new breast size. Some women may experience discomfort during their early menstrual period following surgery due to chest swelling.
Many women find that the benefits of breast reduction are far greater than the side effects. However, you need to consider the risks involved.
