How to Talk to a Friend After a Facelift

After cosmetic surgery, many are nervous to talk to friends and family about the procedure. When bruises or cuts appear, as with facial changes, the effects of the procedure can be apparent for days or weeks. This sometimes leaves friends and colleagues in a position to suspect that surgery has been performed. Here are some tips for dealing with situations like this.

Don't Continue Live

Every time someone experiences a bruise, color change, or swelling, it is a safe bet that they are fully aware and aware. That said, a new face is not the only reason for bruising. Car accidents and domestic abuse are just two different examples. Regardless of the explanation, most likely, direct questions such as "what happened to your face?" will rarely make one feel less exposed. Instead, consider open-ended questions such as "how do you feel?"

Be Careful About Children

While most adults (but not all) are capable of being discrete, children are known for their lively and offensive questions. If you bring children to gatherings with family or co-workers, it's important to provide them with things that may trigger inappropriate reactions. If a distant relative is using a wheelchair, for example, it might be a good idea to train your ten-year-old about proper behavior. There is also the potential for anxiety around people who have recently had a new face. Even when people expect young people to see or ask questions directly, things can get out of hand quickly.

Provide Your Support

It's a good idea to take a positive and supportive approach to communication. Even if one does not feel comfortable talking about other life's procedures or events, it can still mean to express support and build friendships. At a very practical level, they have no obligation to discuss the surgery with anyone who is interested, just as you do not welcome any and all questions about your personal life.

Try Indirect Supplements

If the procedure goes well, but your coworker does not make a formal announcement or email, you may consider offering a more general complement. Something like "You look great, what's the secret?" leaving them the choice to reveal as much or as little as they want. It is important to be pure and avoid placing the person in a place. Speaking privately in private is a good idea. Cosmetic procedures or facelifts come with a lot less stigma than they did a few decades ago, but some people can still be very sensitive. It is important not to risk social or professional relationships because expectations vary around wisdom.

There are no universal guidelines for social interaction, and your approach may depend on the nature of your friendship. Talking about recent procedures is often a great relief for patients. They may not be sure when and if a conversation is appropriate to get them started. As with most sensitive subjects, pay attention to other people's language and clear levels of comfort.
