Massage Therapists: Aloe Vera - Best Remedy for Sunburn

Sunburn, literally burning the upper layers of the skin with excessive exposure to sunlight, is best solved by using a liberal and regular Aloe vera gel. It is a natural product, providing instant relief and soothing and promoting the healing process. It is also a natural addition to any body massage or massage practice whether you live in a sunny resort or not.

Holiday destinations are much brighter than where one lives, more often than not leading to painful sunburns. It's just a fact. This is true despite numerous public service announcements that warn of the risks and dangers of skin cancer, and the influx of sun blocks and sunscreens available in almost every store to help prevent sunburn. However, the most frequent and unexpected souvenir brought home from a sunset vacation is, literally, sunburn. And of course, no sunburn is complete without peeling, peeling and skin itching as the epidermis recovers from damage.

Having grown up in Southern California, I know a thing or two about sunburn ~ things are much more, in fact, than I know. In particular, I grew up in Los Angeles, where almost every Sunday and even some Saturdays my kids spend on the beach. It was my mother's thing to go to the beach and relax after a difficult week at work, lying on the sand with a good book while soaking in the sun. Our thing ~ my brother and I ~ is playing in the waves and digging holes that never end in the sand. We were often asked if we were digging in China. No, just dig. As a result, every Sunday we go home exhausted, and the sun burns.

Each Spring, starting in the early Sixties, for variety, my family would continue a hundred miles to the Palm Springs desert. Clear skies, overlooking palm trees, blazing hot sun, sparkling pools, warm sunshine and indigo-covered ceilings greet us with a gazillion stars. Sometimes we only go for weekends, sometimes for a week.

My brother and I would spend our hot desert days at the pool ~ and at night we trembled in our air-conditioned motel room, with our new Noxzema product, to burn the sun. The white cream in the cobalt-blue jar was the staple in our house throughout the sixties and seventies. Built in 1914 as a sunscreen cream originally known as the Townsend R22. In the early sixties, it also improved eczema, hence its new name and relaunch as Noxzema. The three main ingredients in Noxzema skin creams are lime, bulbs and eucalyptus. Camphor is a natural pain reliever; The bulbs come from mint plants and have cooling properties, and Eucalyptus is included as a moisturizer, giving short-term, soothing relief.

We didn't have sunblock per se at the time, and the only suntan lotion I remember was Coppertone, known at the time for his adorable little dog billboard ad for a little girl bathing under a dress. This is aimed at improving sunscreen, not necessarily protecting the skin from ultraviolet light. There's always a bottle on the bottom of the beach bag as I recall, but we rarely use it.

It's not just the bright, sunny days that can damage your skin. I've been getting more out of my recent sunburns on the beach or on the water in the cloudy days.

As a teenager, the frequent attempts to damage my skin were often the past. Tanning is "cool" and it is popular to use baby oil, Hawaiian Tropic oil or Coco Butter to try to get the desired brown berry skin tone. Some of my friends also use regular butter! It makes me wonder what we are doing with our future skin. Unfortunately, when you have very fair skin like mine, it's hard to get a deep tan no matter what product you use, so any of my attempts to tan are followed by ~ you guessed it ~ sunburn followed by a gentle Noxzema treatment.

I remember the first time I tried to really get the "suntan on the beach ~ let go of all the digging teens and play in the waves ~ actually" put it out. "A full day is spent patiently on the beach and carefully rotating my body every fifteen to thirty minutes. I've never been so bored in my life getting" tan, "and my reward for living boredom? 2 beautiful blisters on my skin for the next two weeks. It's so bad, I literally have scars for years.

Thankfully, as the years passed, my search for the perfect tan became less and less important, especially when more information was available that exposed the risks associated with exposure to ultra-violet radiation. As I become more aware, I am also more sensitive to my skin.

Those were the days of self-destruction that I thought would never come back to haunt me. Now that I live full-time in the resort for most of the year, getting too much sun or getting a ton of sunshine is no longer appealing to me because of the potentially life-threatening risks, and because of the long-term effects it has on skin quality. Living where old sun worshipers come to retire, I've seen how many years of sun, over and over, can do for skin and I say, it's not pretty. I may put in ten or fifteen minutes every few days to get my natural dose of Vitamin D, but beyond that I am not interested in sun exposure unless I am climbing or working in the yard. It is important for the body to get the natural source of Vitamin D that comes from the sun, so I definitely don't avoid the sun at all, and I do not recommend doing so.

As a massage therapist in a sunny resort town, I see sunshine in visitors from all over the world. The heroes of the weekend suffered the most. They try to affect the absorption of the first week until the second and last day they are spent in misery. The sun where I live, like any other where there is so much sunlight and so much noise, is really sinking into people. I'm going to tell my clients to be careful while here because the sun is so strong you can almost get the sunshine just by sitting in your living room!

No matter where you go in this area during the high tourist season, you will see a lot of really great sunburns. Some sunshine is almost radiant where you can tell people who forgot to hand it over, or spend too long floating in the pool, or fail to wear sunscreen while playing golf or watching golf, or some other activity that leaves the frontier interesting to burn to skin. The most difficult people to watch are the ones where it is clear the visitor is burned into the abyss and every movement, however minute, is painful.

Working at a hotel spa and then myself running into unpleasant situations where people come to work sessions are too bad to burn to really get a massage or body scrub, or to cancel at the last minute because of their skin burns. After too many cancellations, I noticed that it was clearly a problem that needed a solution.

Looking for solutions for my sun-soaked customers, my first brainstorming idea was to give them the Noxzema app, an idea that I quickly rejected. Not only was it expensive, but I knew it would be too neat and smelly like a strong bulb, almost a medical scent. I also prefer natural and ideal, organic products. Also, walking with a layer of white cream on your skin is not very exciting. It's normal to see someone with white nose or lips, but I think the whole body will be smaller. So I browsed through the catalog of my order suppliers looking for the right application. Unfortunately, almost every product I find contains a lot of synthetics and chemicals and / or really expensive ones.

Finally, I found Aloe vera organic gel ~ a natural product and so easy. I think of it as a magic skin elixir that I integrate into my body treatments and applications to treat my clients skin, but especially for sunburned clients. The aloe vera gel has also traveled with me for my own vacation to the tropics and everywhere I know I will be exposed to the sun if I burn, or for that matter, sting, or be bitten by some bugs.

Organic aloe vera gel, also known as Lily from the desert because of its membership in the Lily family, has a long and long history as a healing plant used in ancient Egypt for skin and much more. Used on the skin it is very soothing and prevents the skin from blistering and peeling except in cases of extreme skin damage. It also dramatically accelerates the healing process. There is more about the healing properties of organic aloe gel which is now a new staple in many homes for the purpose of first aid ~ both internally and externally. Burns, cuts, scraps, rash ... the list goes on.

It is said by many well-known sources, including the major Aloe growers that Aloe has properties that have five main functions. The first is that it is an antibiotic, it is also an antiseptic and a freezing agent. It is also a pain suppressor, and it is a growth stimulator for normal external and internal cells. What that means is that it helps speed up the scar tissue and skin surface in a number of ways. In addition to that, it is also non-toxic and nonallergenic. Apart from being a detoxicant, Aloe vera has no side effects that we all know are often problematic with synthetic drugs.

They are some of the most appealing healing properties for easy and accessible plants. What's not to love about these beautiful natural materials, especially when the topic is sunburned?

Ideally, the best way to use Aloe vera is to plant fresh. I actually know some people in this valley who keep many Aloe plants in their yard dedicated to their own medicinal use in the event of an emergency and vice versa. Most people can't or won't do it, so the next best thing is commercial organic gel, or at least, non-organic Aloe vera gel. It really is a miracle plant, especially when it comes to sunlight. It is also a very powerful plant that can take a lot of abuse or neglect before it eventually succumbs.

Aloe vera gel can be used successfully with customers, by yourself when you've spent too much time working in the yard or hiking, at a football game or whenever you have sun exposure. In my own experience, using organic Aloe vera gel in the sunlight significantly, if not completely, reduces blisters and peels off. The healing time is really short.

If you are a salesperson at a sunny local destination or holiday destination, I suggest you consider adding Aloe vera sequences, or at least one app, to the menu or service list for customers who beat them in the sun. Who knows? You can be the one who saves your customers vacation! As a bonus, the amino acids in Aloe vera help soften the skin, so if you come across someone with rough skin and itchy, they will definitely feel the difference after the Aloe vera session. Even if you do not live in a sunny resort town, you are still more likely to have customers returning from their vacation with a sunset souvenir. Offering several types of Aloe vera gel gel to speed up the healing process of your sunburned customers can help your acceptance

If you are planning to visit a sunny destination where you will be exposed to more sun than you are used to, my best advice is to clearly bring your sunscreen ~ and use it ~ but also bring in Aloe vera gel. The best and 100% successful solution to sunburn, of course, is to not get one in the first place. However, despite every precaution, it's inevitable, so Aloe vera in your suitcase or make-up is a great travel companion - in case. Unfortunately, you can't always find out where you are going, and it's really the best natural remedy for you, so take it with you. Please note, however, since they are gel, you will be careful how you wrap them if you are flying in a commercial airline. Even if it's in the original bottle, if it exceeds a certain size, you won't be able to carry it on the flight with you.

If you are like me and you suffer a lot of skin damage throughout your life, or if you live in a sunny climate all year long, I can't think of a better prevention of skin cancer than the potential of Aloe vera gel. I will not make any health claims here beyond suggesting you check out the wonderful properties of Aloe vera for yourself, and you will get an idea of how amazing the Aloe vera plant is.
