Treating acne naturally and effectively without the use of chemicals that can harm your skin is easy and cheap today as it has become very popular as people realize how effective it is. The following advice is based entirely on my personal experience of trying out the different types of treatments, techniques and methods over the last 4 years that I have experienced acne - most of which I try not to work at all, but some of them give me great results. This is what's best for me.
1. Tea tree oil. There are several studies that show that gel containing about 5% tea tree oil is as effective as a popular lotion I'm sure you've seen that it contains 5% benzoyl peroxide, although tea tree oil can work slower. For some people, tea tree oil can cause a reaction known as a "touch of dermatitis", so test it on your skin and wait 24 hours to see if there are any negative reactions before spreading it all over your face. Also, you should not use tea tree oil if you have acne rosacea as it can actually make your symptoms worse.
2. Glycolic Acid. This is the natural acid found in sugarcane. When glycolic acid is applied to your skin, it does an incredible job of releasing dead skin cells and unknown pores. Glycolic acid has also been shown to improve acne scar appearance.
3. Steam! Yes, exactly: try steaming your face once or twice a week, this will help open pores and thus prevent the blockage and acne that cause it. Just boil some water, take a pot from the kitchen, then put a towel over your head, bend over the pan, and hold your face for 5 minutes or so. Finally, rinse your face with cold water to quickly close the pores - now, look in the mirror. It looks better, right?
