Baby Acne - Is There Effective Treatment?

It is a common belief that acne is a skin problem that affects teens. In fact, this medical condition can affect infants and adults as well. The main features of baby acne are represented by a small lump of red on the cheeks, forehead and chin. In most cases, this problem can be seen in the first three or four months after birth. Crying and bewildering will aggravate the symptoms. Exposure to sunlight or high temperatures can also make this skin problem clearer. In addition, very small white bumps may appear on the nose, chin or cheek. These are signs of skin problems called milia.

The main cause of baby acne is the change in hormone levels that occur during pregnancy. This skin problem is known to affect men, not women. Although defined as a hormone change, baby acne should not be confused with hormone problems.

Acne prevention is not something that can be achieved, and treatment options are also limited. Parents are advised to seek medical advice if skin problems do not disappear within 3 months. The podiatrist will provide some suggestions for the baby's acne to disappear faster. Usually, these skin problems can be solved on their own and because the treatment is not really effective. It is important to maintain the baby's face properly. Warm water should be used 2 or 3 times a day to clean the area. Next, the face should be well dried. Acne should not be rubbed as in this case the risk of infection increases significantly.

In rare cases, when the above-mentioned method does not produce results, parents are advised to seek medical advice. The doctor will prescribe the cream of the drug or other form of medicine. If the acne baby is known to have underlying causes, then in this case the treatment should target the acne problem.

As this is not a very serious skin problem, it is better to wait on your own instead of using topical or oral medications intended for adolescents and adults suffering from acne. Some parents decide to use home remedies for baby acne, such as vinegar-based solutions. In addition, there are many creams based on this vinegar solution. Other home remedies may be based on Fructus kochiae, Herbal drymaria cordata, Radix Angelicae dahuricae, Cortex mori radicis, Speranskia tuberculata Herb, Cortex dictamni radicis, Radix gentianea, Rhizoma dryopteris crassirhizomae and Radix Ledebouriellae. These are some of the plants that have proven effective in treating baby and adult acne. Applying cream containing these ingredients is often helpful. In children over three months old, parents may use 5% Benzoyl Peroxide. Treatment based on this lotion is believed to be effective. However, the best thing parents can do is be patient and the problem will be gone for a while.
